Work Experience

I have a diverse background in linguistics and public service, with experience spanning government, education, and tech-related language roles. I currently serve as an Assistant Director at the Johor State Sports Council, where I lead the Corporate and Finance unit. Prior to this, I worked as an Assistant Secretary (Human Resource Development) at the Johor State Secretary’s Office, focusing on the State training coordination.

Before my government roles, I’ve worked full-time as a subtitle linguist for Netflix and a language data specialist for Google. Once in a while, I still take linguistic projects if they fit in my hectic schedule, including translation and copyediting.

I also train civil servants on the introduction to the national language as a Munsyi Muda Bahasa Perkhidmatan Awam (public service junior language specialist). As an active lifelong learner, I have participated in numerous training courses from project management, design thinking, to data analytics!
